I think they're very good musicians, and I particularly like Derek and the Dominos. But I'm not sure why the Allman Brothers and their offshoots should be considered "Southern Rock." (See Paisley Lake's comment earlier.) Lynnrd Skynnrd, Molly Hatchett, 38 Special, Charlie Daniels Band, et al. are more characteristic of what people think of when they think of Southern Rock. It's not so much the music or musicality of these groups that I disagree with as it is their conservative ethos / socio-political stance and their musical conservativism. I probably didn't make that clear in the article.
