I think there are three spheres (I'm tempted to use the word "realities" but this would imply some sort of equal truthfulness or accuracy): (1) identity, (2) perception, and (3) discrimination (or prejudice). Each of these spheres has its own problems as a classification, but the spheres as I'm defining them are based on (1) how people see or define themselves; (2) how people see or define others; (3) how people deliberately (if not consciously) ignore the difference between (1) and (2) in order to establish some sort of power over people whom they consider different.
