I think that no one is so stupid as to be unaware when a particular set of words / actions may harm someone else. Even if the motive is not deliberately harmful, if the person goes ahead with the remarks / actions knowing that they may cause harm to a reasonable person, then they are being malicious. This, in my opinion, is not the case with anti-anti-racism laws that claim to protect the feelings of anyone hurt by a discussion of racism. These laws are in effect malicious; they hurt people who are already suffering from malicious discrimination by denying them the opportunity to discuss their feelings or to learn about the cause of their pain.

I'm working on an article about Tommy Tuberville (who, I believe, is both stupid and malicious) that deals with this problem. Your article is quite helpful--and your daughter's drawing is excellent.
