I think I liked almost all of New Wave that I heard at the time (which was only a small fraction of what was out there). Ultravox and Tears for Fears are probably the groups I listened to the most.

But here's a question: why wouldn't a track like Robert Wyatt's cover of "At Last I Am Free" (1982) or the Kinks' "Down All the Days" (1989) be considered New Wave? Ignore the artists' biography / discography--these songs are as or more new wave than the traditional tracks from the standard bearers like Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, a-ha, etc.
