* Ray Price, Night Life (the first and best concept albums are country-western)

* Turtles, Battle of the Bands (music as conflict, music as healing)

* Robert Wyatt, Rock Bottom (an inward journey into madness)

* Lou Reed, Berlin (brutally honest and as frightening as an album can be)
