I heard Black Panthers speak at my largely white liberal arts college in the late 60's. The main agenda that they pushed was the breakfast program (and yes, they acknowledged their revolutionary Marxist ideology). They weren't trying to promote white liberal guilt or radical political agendas; they just wanted to make sure that Black kids had a good breakfast before starting the school day. It's pretty clear why the forces on the far right want to defund school lunches (they're not even considering breakfasts).
