I haven't read all the comments here, but some of what I'm about to say has been discussed a bit:

Google's kneecapping of SEO strategies should mean that you'll get far fewer new readers, but as long as you provide interesting, updated content, the old readers should keep coming back. The trick to getting new readers would be to become active in one or more communities and drive fellow members to your blog (without overtly spamming them, i.e. you should offer something of value for them to make the leap--not a free newsletter or other familiar marketing tactic, something specific worth reading). Even with AI, content is still king (though you have to prepare AI-proof content, probably by staying away from familiar topics (e.g. Keto).

FWIW, I'm one of those fossils who can tell you where I was when I saw Mosaic for the first time (the first web browser I used was the CERN line mode browser).
