I had heard the Manfred Mann version but hadn't heard of Herbie's People. I also like this version more. The vocalist is like a cross between Ray and Dave Davies. In fact, the Herbie's version sounds much more like a Kinks song than does the Manfred version. Speaking of which, Ray Davies has another take on domestic bliss in Two Sisters, and yet another take in Ducks on the Wall.
