I had a dozen or so of 45's that my mother had bought for me when I was 10 or 11 . These weren't songs she particularly knew or liked--more of a kind of grab bag of outdated hits that she found for cheap . One of them was the Ferlin Husky "Wings of a Dove" single. Others were by Connie Francis and Teresa Brewer (I'm not including my brightly colored kiddie songs, like "Down By the Station").
Of that dozen or so, this single by Sam Cooke stuck with me. It's the B-side for "Wonderful World" but it made more of an impression on my young mind.
Four years later, Cooke released "A Change Is Gonna Come" as a b-side. I didn't catch it at the time, but just found a copy at an "Antique" Mall for 20 cents.
