I don't know The Outlaws--that album looks pretty darn good from the AllMusic review; I'll have to check it out (on streaming). (I do have a vinyl of the "other" Outlaws plus a Tompall Glaser single or two.)
Countdown to Ecstasy and Aja were the only Steely Dan LPs I owned (all my old vinyl perished in various moves). "My Old School" may be my favorite of their works.
Still no joy at my local Goodwill today (the only place open on Sundays); the differences: a late Frank Sinatra (September of My Years, orchestration by Gordon Jenkins)--not an era I'm enthusiastic about, but at $1.01 I should have checked the condition and maybe bought it; and a Byrds Greatest Hits jacket without the record inside.
Later I went into a local ice cream shop and found that they had vinyl for sale. On the table: crates of overpriced new records. On the ground below: crappy easy listening records like Peter Nero for $8.95. I looked at a copy of a Chad Mitchell Trio record (I'm not fond of their style, but Roger / Jim McGuinn plays on some of their early works) and it had significant scratches / wear--probably VG condition at best. Now I know where those Goodwill records (the ones not cherry picked by the staff) are heading. I'm hoping to visit some of the more obscure outlets when I get a chance.
