I didn't know about the Mogwai soundtrack, so now I"ll have to watch the series! Many thanks. I don't think I've seen the Swedish / Danish version of The Bridge (but I've seen a boatload of Scandi-noir, so maybe I have)--that song is powerful.
British mysteries are my main course. Two soundtracks stand out: the dark, fatalistic score by Barrington Pheloung for the Inspector Morse series and the haunting, angsty theme by Ben Bartlett for Vera. It's a little hard to tease apart the attraction of the music from the attraction of the show--but that's what a good soundtrack does, isn't it?
