I can't resist a Kinks reference. On Preservation Acts 1 and 2 (long before 2016), Ray Davies creates a sleazy pseudo populist named Flash (not unlike Trump), who is opposed by an apparently earnest, class-conscious populist Mr. Black (who reminds me of any of a number of pseudo-progressive politicos). In the end, Mr. Black becomes the real fascist and Flash is seen as a tragic character. Much more complicated as a political statement than anything from Lydon or Ye.
