Great bio! I'm not acknowledging any substance abuse, but when I was playing "Shooting at the Moon" (from Daevid's former bandmate Kevin Ayers and the Whole World--an album I was familiar with but until that point without any sort of enhancement), this (experimental) track came on, and began freaking everyone out--even me.

In our state of mind at the time, no one could get up to take the needle off, and the song is 8 minutes long (it seemed to go on for hours).

Not as long as "Codeine Coda" by Gong, though, which lasts indefinitely on a manual turntable since the last phrase is recorded on the lead-out groove. When the stylus hits the end, it bounces back a bit and repeats the phrase.

Kevin Ayers does the same thing on "Lullaby," which repeats the sound of a babbling stream indefinitely.

Good times.
