Good point. My starting point for consideration would be the songs I've listened to the most often. For me, however, the best suited albums are so personal that there's no point in mentioning them here without including a lengthy autobiography (which I promise not to do), but in a nutshell it's not exaggerating to say that they've saved my life. I've listened to my favorite tracks on those two albums hundreds, maybe thousands, of times. It would be simpler to argue for the album I consider the best * than to explain my personal favorite.

Still my desert island choice that's not in the personal category won't make sense to most people either (but it wouldn't require self-analysis going back to childhood), Billy May's collection of "now sound" renditions, "Billy May Today."

I've listened to his version of "A Lover's Concerto" fewer than a thousand times, but more than practically anything else. https://youtu.be/A4X4yEXtlkg?feature=shared

* Best album of all time: "Keynsham" by the Bonzo Dog Band (this choice will make even less sense for most people than my desert island pick "Billy May Today").
