For Spanish, try Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz (it's been a zillion years, so I don't have any specific recommendations there).

For Cervantes, try his play "The Siege of La Numancia." You'll probably find your theme also developed in some of the Exemplary Novels. Within Don Quixote itself, search out the episode of Marcela. Calderon de la Barca's Life Is a Dream deals with your theme quite thoroughly. Gongora's Polifemo y Galatea may be relevant (again, many years since I've read any Gongora).

For French popular lit, Moliere's The Misanthrope. Also the novel Paul and Virginia by Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre.

Portuguese: the epic The Lusiads by Camoes.
