Few people know that keyboardist Reginald Dwight got his start from performing with several bands featuring British blues legend Long John Baldry. When he struck out on his own, Dwight took his recording surname from Baldry's Christian name "John" and his recording Christian name from Baldry's saxophonist Elton Dean.
