(Disclaimer: I'm not the most knowledgeable country music fan.)
Country is a tough challenge for both women and people of various colors. You cited Linda Martell, who is probably the greatest (though sadly short-lived) pioneer of this intersection.
A few white artists are dedicated to expanding the consciousness of white country audiences, most notably Jason Isbell: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/elaminabdelmahmoud/jason-isbell-ryman-country-music-mickey-guyton
Of course the brilliant McArthur fellow Rhiannon Giddens needs no support, except that she gets shuffled off to the Americana / roots music dustbin. If she's not country, neither is Hank Williams or Patsy Cline.
Many thanks for this important correction of musical stereotypes.
