But my favorite is a pseudo group: On their concept album The Turtles Present the Battle of the Bands, the 60's pop giants satirize a series of popular styles of the time. On "Eleanor," the band mocks themselves, as "Howie, Mark, Johnny, Jim, and Al" (the first names of the Turtles). It's a Turtles song and a parody of a Turtles song ("Eleanor gee I think you're swell") at the same time. Pure genius.
