I've read some of his comments on your Tell It Like It Was blog, but I didn't know anything about him.

"Ford, Boetticher, Grahame" is enough for me to know I missed out on a kindred spirit. If the murder mystery novels were by Raymond Chandler, Ross McDonald, Thomas B. Dewey, Dorothy B. Hughes, Margaret Millar, Agatha Christie, Dorothy L. Sayser, or Loren D. Estleman--even more so.
