Condolences for your loss. Your mother had superb taste (she was about 10 years older than me, and she picked some of the best from her era; We see eye-to-eye on Judas Priest).

Two asides:
Ray Price recorded the most complex concept album from any time, in any genre ("Night Life").
In 1995, Robert Fripp recorded an album about the passing of his mother: "A Blessing of Tears." Although there are no words, the music tells the story of overcoming grief and finding reconciliation in the face of devastating loss.
