Can't say I care for any of these iconic tunes. They're kind of like earworms of the soul. I do like a few Billy Joel songs (Allentown, e.g.). The Eagles did cover a Steve Young song, and I like Joe Walsh before he joined the group (plus I confess to having enjoyed Boys of Summer on the radio). But otherwise, what's the point? Of course if none of these musicians had ever existed, their absence would probably have been filled by someone else just as uninspired (and not a genius like Steve Young).
