But are there not certain principles that are counter-intuitive? (For me, the Monty Hall solution is an example.) Intuition (and "mental constructions" by extension) can at times be shown to contradict the principles of ordinary reality; i.e. intuitive reasoning can be fallacious ("I've lost so many poker games tonight that I must be due to win this one"). If some of your concepts (mental constructions) are reliable and others are not, then you don't have a system that has any rigor.
