"Beautiful" is a great term--and applicable as you say, in very different ways. I tried to get some variety and pick some less well-known songs (there's tons more stuff as unique as these 10, e.g. Cale's collaboration with Terry Riley on The Church of Anthrax, or Reed-Cale's Songs for Drella).
