As a small child in the 50's, I slept in a canopy bed in the house that my family rented. I can tell you from first-hand experience, canopies are a lot less reassuring than you would think, regardless of the mattress underneath, particularly if you've seen one of those B-movies / serials in which someone is crushed by a descending canopy. Plus, canopies pick up an inordinate number of cobwebs, whose shadows dance in the night as you're trying to sleep.

But your choices for comforting music seem sound to me.
