As a Croatian-Irish American, I was fascinated by the story of a musician I'd never heard of.

Tracking down credit for the American version of Strangers in the Night is a dead end (Bert Kaempfert, Charles Singleton, Eddie Snyder, and Avo Uvezian according to AllMusic, which is normally pretty reliable).

Robic's performance is quite good. I prefer other world music vocalists, but that doesn't detract from his strengths as a singer (and certainly as a writer).
