Another Green World was a major transition from my 60's taste to the 70's, important in all the ways you describe here. So I'm probably in the minority of folks who love June 1, 1974 (featuring my 60's icons Eno, Cale, Nico, and Ayers, plus Mike Oldfield and Robert Wyatt). Here's a bit of trivia: the guitars were inadvertently out of tune on the June 1 version of "Driving Me Backwards," which Eno regards as a strength, and in fact, the result is quite beautiful.
A later Eno participation in anti-virtuosity (the Portsmouth Sinfonia recordings) are also major favorites of mine.
For many years, I kept hoping that Eno's reliance on non-proficient explorations would open a door for me (as a non-proficient musician), but alas I never took that next step.
