All these years and I didn't know "Kicks" was a Mann-

Weil song or that it was about Gerry Goffin. Next you'll be telling me that "Going Back" by the Byrds was a Goffin-King song.

Speaking of the notorious Byrds, I don't agree with Crosby's dismissal of the song (as an anti-drug song, "Have You Seen Your Mother Baby" is more problematic in my book), but "Eight Miles High" is one of the greatest of songs of all time, regardless of drug stance.
