Albany, GA is a special (but probably far from unique) case for a hotspot, because there were two very specific incidents that triggered the onslaught: funerals (one for an African-American janitor, one for a Euro-American attorney and former assistant district attorney — likely to be different social / racial / economic characteristics of the attendees). I haven’t read if the researchers have determined the degree to which each funeral contributed, but if this isn’t an argument for social distancing, I don’t know what is.
