A list is only as good as the rationale for its choices. A really good list has both unity and diversity. This is a great (and a persuasive) list.

May I recommend a quiet Mexican film that I really enjoyed: “Cumbres” (2014). It’s a “Thelma and Louise” without the Hollywood overkill — a lovely story of the kind of estrangement that seems unique to families and that can be overcome only through a tragedy. Unfortunately “Cumbres” may be difficult to find now that it’s no longer on Amazon streaming.
