7/10 is an unusually high ration for me on Medium lists (everything except Chess Story, Last Lecture, and Mockingbird--though my father grew up in a town 15 miles from Harper Lee's Monroeville AL). The fact I haven't read them is no indicator of their lack of merit, just my lazy habits. Chess Story is the only one I didn't know, and I'll probably start there.
May I suggest as an adjunct to Animal Farm the novel that inspired 1984 and Brave New World, Evgeny Zamyatin's We? In my view, psychologically more penetrating than the two British novels.
An impeccably curated list (and not just because I've read so many of these works). Many thanks.
